Dr. Kristin C. Jones, MD is a double board-certified adult and geriatric psychiatrist and the founder of Exalta Geriatric Psychiatry & Wellness. She earned her medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed her general psychiatry residency at Emory University School of Medicine, followed by fellowship training in geriatric psychiatry, where she also gained experience in electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). She has served on the faculty at both Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. Her training emphasized the complex relationship between mental health, medical illness, and cognitive changes, shaping her nuanced and comprehensive approach to caring for older adults.

Dr. Jones has built her clinical career across diverse settings, including outpatient care, inpatient psychiatry, and consultative roles at the intersection of psychiatry and general medicine. She has extensive experience in telehealth and in the administration of ECT. Her practice focuses on the assessment and treatment of depression, anxiety, cognitive disorders, and the psychiatric effects of medical and neurological conditions. She is known for her thoughtful, measured approach, emphasizing careful diagnosis, minimizing unnecessary medications, and developing individualized treatment plans that align with each patient’s values and goals.
